Solihull Cranial Osteopath has success with Tamworth baby suffering poor sleep patterns
Tamworth Cranial Osteopath John Williams from the Atlas Pain Relief Centre has clinics in Tamworth Staffordshire and Hall Green Birmingham is proving to be a real success treating babies and children with a host of infant conditions.

Worried parents who cannot resolve these conditions by following advice from health visitors and their GPs have turned to Cranial Osteopathy as an alternative option and they have been astounded by the success achieved in a short period of time.
Baby William attended the Tamworth clinic with a history of poor sleeping patterns which had affected the parents and deprived them of their sleep.
Cranial osteopathy was used as a form of treatment on baby William and a positive result was soon evident.
Below is a testimonial of their story and further cranial osteopathy success stories can be viewed by visiting the website www.atlaspainrelief.com

Re – Cranial Osteopathy – William Gorton
Dear All
I write to thank you for the help I received in getting my then 8 month old son William to sleep at night.
William had been a good sleeper until he reached 5 months old. He then got gradually worse until he was waking practically every hour through the night and was a nightmare to get back to sleep. After trying all the advice given by our health visitor and family we had raised his cot, taken away his dummy , tried controlled crying , read all the books, bought a humidifier ect ect and nothing had worked.
Three months of no sleep and I was ready to try anything, even though I was sceptical about Cranial Osteopathy. Upon arriving at the Tamworth clinic we were greeted by John who immediately put William at ease and we knew we were in safe hands. To be honest at first it looked as though John had just talked and played with William for 30 minuets whilst holding his hand on his head. I left thinking that I had just wasted £40, until that night when William slept for 4 hours without waking. We continued to go for a further 5 sessions and now William does sleep through the night most nights and if he does wake, it is only usually once. Our family is finally getting the sleep we need and we are much happier.
We would like to say a big thank you to John, we still don´t exactly know what you did and how you did it, but it worked and we are very grateful. William and I enjoyed coming on a Thursday afternoon, to him it was a play date and he will miss you.
We wish you and your staff all the best for the future and will recommend Cranial Osteopathy to all who need it.
Kind Regards
Sara & William Gorton
Solihull cranial osteopath has success with infantile reflux in Birmingham
Solihull cranial osteopath John Williams of Solihull Back Pain Clinic in Hall Green Birmingham has another success story in the field of cranial osteopathy. Infantile reflux has been treated successfully in only 4 visits and both parents are delighted with the change in their child.
Cranial osteopathy is not exactly a spectator sport and parents will see very little of the treatment that takes place. This is why an explanation before treatment commences is so important. Treatment is so subtle that often parents can mistake treatment techniques for examination or interaction with the child. The older the child the more distraction techniques are needed as an active 10 month old child will not sit still while you work on their cranium.
Cranial techniques have been developed to adapt to most situations and Solihull Cranial Osteopath John Williams has used them to help many babies and their families. The Solihull Clinic in Hall Green Birmingham has a website

Baby Amber was suffering with infantile reflux and the parents decided to search for an answer after tradition methods of treatment appeared unsuccessful. The results were swift and decisive and below we have their testimonial.
“Our Daughter, Amber, had been suffering from Reflux from a couple of weeks old. As the weeks went on, the reflux got worse and worse with her virtually bringing up her whole milk intake at every feed. Her sleep patterns were not bad and she was not crying in the night but she was prone to slight restlessness. We had taken her to the doctors for a resolution but because her weight had not dropped below the chart graph growth line then we weren’t referred to the hospital. She was given a course of Infant Gaviscon upon repeat prescription which thickened up the feeds. This helped with the reflux but we were far from happy that we were putting extra chemicals into our child from such an early age.
We’d tried everything from changing formula milks to those of a thicker consistency but she refused, we changed the angle of feeding her but that also had little effect.
It was just during a lunchtime chat with a colleague where I first heard of ‘cranial osteopathy’. My colleague’s sister had been through similar issues surrounding Colic and many sleepless nights with her young child that she was referred to the hospital. The hospital had actually recommended to her that a cranial osteopath may help at least alleviate some of the symptoms and even after one visit there was a noted success in that their first good night’s sleep was had since birth.
I was still quite sceptical at this point and did some research on the internet and visited a few sites which ultimately led me to John Williams. I booked our first session with the Hall Green clinic but in all honesty I didn’t really believe it would work. I had to try though because we’d tried everything else and at least I could rule it out and then try something else.
The first session was interesting to say the least; we had a chat about everything from her feeding habits, even down to my wife’s pregnancy and the birth itself. John had made a lot of notes and then started to interact with Amber. From the start he had built an instant rapport with her and was obviously good with children which made things a little more comfortable for us. It seemed very strange though that all he seemed to be doing was talking and playing with her whilst cradling her head. Amber was not stressed by it all and just seemed to be happy enough whilst my wife and I shot curious looks at each other thinking “is this it?” John had assured us that it is a common reaction to how treatment is carried out. We left the clinic with the same scepticism but in the back of our minds there was hope it would work.
Our first night after treatment was probably the worst night’s sleep we’d had since her birth. She was awake every 1½-2 hours and extremely restless, the reflux had not got any better and at that point we were never, ever going back. We continued to diary her progress though and over the next 2 to 3 days there was a marked difference in the amount of food that was coming back up.
We decided to give it another go and went back for our second session. John had documented everything that had happened over the week and then interacted with Amber. Once again she was quite happy but we still left the clinic with the same doubts as previous.
It was that night we noticed the first significant change. We put her down at 7pm as normal; we went to bed at 10pm…… Then Amber woke us up a little after 7am. Also, her reflux had calmed considerably as the week went on.
We have now attended 4 sessions and her sleep patterns are fantastic. She goes down at 7pm and wakes between 6-7am. She may stir once in the night but drops back off.
We no longer give Amber Infant Gaviscon. The reflux has not 100% gone but we have gone from a situation where she was sick 3-4 times every feed down to once or twice a week at most. Both my wife and I have no doubts that the sessions we had with John have been the over-riding contributing factor to the change in her. Amber is happier in herself and we as a family are happier.
John, you have managed to convert two sceptics. THANK YOU”.

Cranial Osteopathy for infants
How a “baby from hell” turned angel.
Little Demi Hodge put a huge strain on her parents by only sleeping a couple of hours during the night, but all she needed was a special touch from cranial osteopath John Williams of Atlas Pain Relief Centre in Tamworth, Staffordshire.
Watching angel faced Demi play with a cuddly toy, its hard to believe her mother labelled her “the baby from hell”. With her big brown eyes and silky hair put up in pigtails, Demi is now 16 months old and a far cry from the little devil she was a few months ago. The difference ?. Sleep. Up until recently Demi only slept for a couple of hours at a time and poor mom and dad could not get a proper nights sleep. This had continued from birth and after a year both parents were shattered and found coping with work and lack of sleep a real problem.
Desperate for a solution mom Gaynor visited Atlas Osteopath John Williams in Tamworth and explained the situation. The specialist treatment of cranial osteopathy is a fast growing area in the profession but requires many years of specialist training. John who has experience working in a london baby clinic and has undergone post graduate training in Italy and Leeds explained that forces exerted on the child during birth can have a traumatic effect on their development. Even caesarean births can have problems as the child is removed before the moulding process is completed.
John set to work on baby Demi and this involves cradling the head in a special way to palpate movement of cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) and very subtle movement of cranial bones. John admits it took 3 years of feeling heads before finally his palpation skills were sharp enough to undertake this type of work.
Following just one treatment, baby Demi began sleeping for 8 hours during the night and both parents were astounded. Following 3 further treatments Demi was discharged a different child. Mom Gaynor admits “it has taken so much stress away from both of us and it even feels as though we have a totally different child now”. Demi is happy and no longer irritable and both parents can get a good nights sleep. Gaynor has passed the phone number of Atlas Pain Relief Centre onto her health visitor and her GP so that other parents may get help
John is delighted he can be of help to anxious parents, and points out that with cranial work on babies you not only treat the infant but the whole family unit is affected, and if successful anxiety from parents and the whole family unit is reduced.
