Tamworth sports physiotherapists from Atlas Pain Relief Centre in Tamworth town centre Staffordshire provided support for local runners in Lichfield on September 6th 2009

 

The Atlas Sports Massage team turned out to provide the Lichfield 10k runners with advice on running gait and overpronation and sports massage before and after the run.

 

On site massage has been an integral part of the Lichfield 10k event in Staffordshire and many runners avail themselves of this free service provided by the Tamworth Atlas team.

Atlas Sports Injury Clinic in Tamworth Staffordshire has joined forces with the Flora London Marathon and is now on their approved list of sports injury clinics who specialize in treating distance running injuries. Lichfield running club have once again secured the services of Staffordshire Sports Massage team from Atlas Pain Relief Centre in Tamworth. The annual Lichfield 10k run will be on 7 September 2008 and attracts hundreds of runners.

Physiotherapist John Williams and sports podiatrist Peter Taylor will attend the event and bring a team of massage therapists to give free sports massage and sports injury treatments and advice on the day.

Tamworth speed sensation Meghan Beesley ran the race of her life in Poland at the World Junior Championships recording a PB of 57.08 for the 400 metre hurdles. This was achieved at the highest stage of her career so far when finishing in third place behind American gold medalist Takecia Jameson.

More Physiotherapists join the Atlas team!

Success in Hall Green, Birmingham has resulted in a new Chartered Physiotherapist joining the Atlas physiotherapists team of sports injury specialists. Richard Mason BSc (Hons) MCSP HPC is a registered physiotherapist who concentrates on sports injury treatments.

Richard is a keen runner who recorded 2 hrs 22 mins when placed 28th in the 2001 London Marathon. He also finished 16th in the 2001 Dublin Marathon recording 2 hrs 23 mins.
Following a spell as the Physio at Bedworth United FC he has decided to join the Atlas team in February 2008.

Richard will initially begin work at the Tamworth Clinic joining fellow HPC Sports Physiotherapists Peter Taylor and John Williams who are both runners with football touchline experience. The Solihull Sports Injury Clinic will expand in 2008 and Richard is expected to be involved as one of the Solihull physiotherapists.

Sports Massage, hands on treatment and electrotherapy are all used to treat running injuries and training advice from our distance runners is always available during clinic sessions.
